Sizes, weights, tolerances and packing

The figures a buyer needs before quoting a customer or booking freight. Where a number depends on the finish or the piece, we say so rather than printing a flattering average.

A trade name such as “60” is the size of the pattern, not a measured height — a censer sold as 60 measures about 57 cm. We quote the measured figure and the actual weight on every proforma, so your catalogue, your freight booking and your customer's tape measure agree.

Marking

Customs classification

Usually HS 8306 or 7419Statuettes and ornaments of base metal, or other articles of copper. Confirm with your own broker; duty rates change and we do not publish them.

Ask for this at quotation stage

Unit weight and packed weight, carton or crate dimensions, pieces per carton, and the number of cartons per pallet. Bronze is dense: a mixed order usually reaches the weight limit of a 20 ft container long before it fills the volume, and it is cheaper to find that out on a spreadsheet than at the port.
